Some Early Signs of Pregnancy

How to tell if you are pregnant?

The following are some common early signs of pregnancy. Please keep in mind that pregnancy symptoms can vary from person to person. In fact, your own symptoms may actually be different from one pregnancy to another.

The first sign of pregnancy for most women is a missed period. Many women will have light bleeding while they are pregnant, but typically the bleeding will be shorter or than a normal period. When this happens, it is advisable to do a pregnancy test, either at home with a pregnancy kit from the pharmacy or through a family doctor.

The second sign is changes in the breast. They will be swollen and larger than their normal size. They will feel heavy and your nipples may get darker. And this change comes generally within a few week of pregnancy.

Fatigue and feeling nauseous. Many women will often feel nauseous, especially in the morning hours – “morning-sickness.” Other possible symptoms during the first trimester may be increased fatigue and wanting to sleep more.

Frequent urination. You may have the urge to go to the bathroom more often day or night. This is normal and is caused by the changes in your pregnancy hormone.

Food cravings can be a sign. This was the case for me. Use them in conjunction with some other signs listed above.
